Morphine reduction is our priority and steam stabilization has the following positive effects:

• Accentuation of natural poppy seed taste and aroma
• Prevention of rancidity and bitter taste of the poppy seed
• Elimination of vegetative types of mould
• Extension of shelf life of milled poppy up to 8 months (if storage
  conditions – Max. 20 °C – are fulfilled).
• Significant reduction of morphine levels under 6 mg/kg or upon
  request down to 4 mg/kg (the morphine content limit given by the
       legislation is 25 mg/kg)
